Hotel “Il Cavallo” constructed in 1849 by the Gheri family and still owned for over five generations by the same family, is a historical building. It was originally a post station, transformed into an inn and then a hotel.

The hotel is situated in a quiet spot away from traffic and noise in the historic center of Barberino di Mugello which permits our guests to feel immediately at home in an atmosphere of “long ago” surrounded by the warmth of a small village and its inhabitants.

The hotel is located in the lovely panoramic countryside of the Mugello which allows our guests to enjoy not only the peace and quiet of the area but offers the possibility to visit the major cities and fascinating spots of Tuscany to include Florence, Pisa, Lucca, Siena and the Versilia.

It is situated 3 Kilometers from Exit 18 on the A1 (Autosole) Milan-Naples and just a few minutes away from the International Racing Course of the Mugello, the Golf Club Poggio dei Medici and the famous fashion outlet of Barberino. It is also very near the Bilancino Lake which offers various sporting activities to include sailing, windsurfing, canoeing, fishing and equipped beaches. It is also possible, in a shop in the town center, rent bicycles in order to reach the lake.

The building has been completely restored and renovated inside both in services offered and furnishings which has resulted in a comfortable and cozy atmosphere that combines refined elegance and modern conveniences. On the first floor the hotel offers an excellent restaurant “Osteria al Cavallino Bianco” featuring Tuscan specialties and a lovely garden reserved for the hotel’s clients.
